Pregen settings
Bound generation admission and leave headroom for other server work.
Control admission
Pregen uses Paper’s existing generation pipeline. These settings control admission, not work already running. They cannot guarantee a TPS floor. Start with defaults and a small radius during a quiet period.
Option reference
All options below belong in nusa-global.yml and require a full restart. Missing keys use defaults. Ranges include both ends unless marked >.
| Complete key | Type / default | Range / unit | Purpose, effects, and when to change |
|---|---|---|---|
pre-generation.minimum-tps | number18 | 1..20 TPS | Hold new admission below this TPS. Not a guaranteed TPS floor.Applies when: feature-flags.pre-generation |
pre-generation.resume-tps | number19 | 1..20 TPS, ≥ minimum-tps | TPS recovery threshold. Must be at least minimum-tps; a gap avoids rapid throttle oscillation.Applies when: feature-flags.pre-generation |
pre-generation.max-average-mspt | number40 | >0..50 ms, finite | Require average tick headroom below this work threshold. Running ticks/generation cannot be preempted.Applies when: feature-flags.pre-generation |
pre-generation.max-in-flight | integer2 | 1..64 request | Reserved probe/generation slots, including queued generation. Increase only after observing headroom.Applies when: feature-flags.pre-generation |
pre-generation.requests-per-tick | integer1 | 1..64 request/tick | Maximum newly admitted requests per server tick. Higher rates may increase generation load.Applies when: feature-flags.pre-generation |
pre-generation.progress-interval-ticks | integer200 | 20..72000 tick | Console progress interval; 200 is about ten seconds at 20 TPS and takes longer during lag.Applies when: feature-flags.pre-generation |
pre-generation.max-radius-chunks | integer256 | 1..2048 chunk | Command radius cap around spawn. The square grows quickly and can consume substantial storage.Applies when: feature-flags.pre-generation |
pre-generation.player-buffer-chunks | integer2 | 0..32 chunk | Margin beyond player render areas to skip. Skipped targets need another run after players move.Applies when: feature-flags.pre-generation |
Run and inspect a job
Commands use a radius in chunks, not blocks, and require a loaded world. Progress does not resume automatically after restart. The pregen guide covers status, pause/resume, skipped player areas, and backups.
resume-tps below minimum-tps fails validation. Average MSPT must be positive and at most 50 ms. Change one bound per test rather than increasing every limit during overload.
