Pre-generate a world
Prepare chunks around spawn with a clear radius and bounded admission.
Before starting
Back up the world, check disk space, and choose a quiet time. The world must be loaded. Enable feature-flags.pre-generation; use console/operator or nusaspigot.command.pregen.
nusa pregen help
nusa pregen 22 world
nusa pregen statusReplace world with the actual Bukkit world name. Radius 22 means 22 chunks from the spawn chunk, not 22 blocks. A chunk is 16 blocks wide. The inclusive square has (2 × radius + 1)² candidates: 2,025 positions for this example, not a circle.
Read progress
Status reports state, scanned/total, generated, existing, failed, reserved/in-flight slots, queued generation, TPS/MSPT, and elapsed time. Player render areas plus a margin are skipped separately; they are not counted as generated.
Run again after players move to cover skipped areas. Movement can place players near work already admitted; that work cannot safely be interrupted.
Pause, resume, or cancel
nusa pregen pause
nusa pregen resume
nusa pregen cancelPause/cancel stop new admission, while accepted requests can finish. The command manages one job. Progress/cursor is not persisted across restart; another run checks already saved chunks.
Load throttling
Defaults hold admission below 18 TPS or without configured MSPT headroom, then require recovery to 19 TPS. Defaults allow two in-flight slots and one new request per tick. Generation uses Paper’s NORMAL-priority pipeline and main-thread chunk attachment.
These limits cannot guarantee a TPS floor or preempt existing generation. Check state, plugins, storage, and skipped areas before increasing caps. See pregen settings. After completion, save and take a new backup while retaining the pregen backup.
